Download Inabler thing

Post by Cakephatt »

Is there any sort of net nanny-ish program that can allow you to regulate downloading on your computer? People keep downloading stuff on my computer and screwing it up.

I-ANAL is a Usenet and chat abbreviation (acronym) for "I am not a lawyer." A similar abbreviation, TINLA, stands for "This is not legal advice."

Keep your computer locked out.

When my iBook is put to sleep or when I place the mouse in the lower right corner and actively activate the screen saver, a password is needed to return to Finder.

I know you probably don't run Mac OS X, but I'm sure you can lock out your computer using XP. My friend does it when he leaves. Rather obnoxious when he leaves his music on....

yes: press Window-L to go into 'switch user'. If you change your user settings, you can put a password on so noone else can use your computer.

Can you not password protect your whole system from the system bios thingy? Itll ask you for a password when you switch on before windows has loaded at all.
