Works also flawless from dosgamesarchive.

Get an antivirus , update it after installing it and scan your PC.
A good freeware that works in ME is AVG free:

Me guess that there is something infected on your PC.

Spybot is good , but it do not helps against a virus.............

Well, I really advise you to get an antivirus. Avast 4 Home Edition is free of charges for ever(or until they change their mind, whichever comes first)

<strike>As for the downloads, as I said try again! ;)</strike>

And maybe unrelated to your problems, [hopefully] you'd be way better off with Win 98 SE

Must leave now, I'm gonna let you in the capable (pfffffrrrt) hands of Larry keep him distanced, he can't be trusted with a girl ~ dosraider <strike>~ Bastard!</strike>

Oh, lol, well then you're stuck with waiting 2 hours

Oh, and it would be easier with 98... that is, if you want DOS games, 'nsuch... Of course, if you've got a decent compie, you could get XP, and then DOSBox!

Oh , a good installed ME isn't thàt bad, been on it for a year or so, but indeed W98 (and even better W98SE) outclasses ME, certainly for dosgaming.

To get back on the avirtus subject, you should really not go unprotected on TeH internet, you catch a virus very easily ourdays.
So: take the time to download it, install it, check directly for updates (should be updated, but you never know) and first of all run a complete scan, all your harddrives (if you have more than one ...). Hopefully you won't have too much and too nasty stuff on your system, but I doubt it.

Now about your unzip probs.
I presume you realise it isn't normal that your archives (and zipper) doesn't work well.
First possibilty:
If , (and that's an IF), the avir finds a lot of virus infected files, and you still have your ME install CD, it can be better to reinstall your system.
Yes, I know, it's a whole work, but if one little virus stays on your system it will infect your PC again .....

Second possibility:
The avir finds nothing.
Begin with uninstalling the archiver(zipper) and reinstall it, if that doesn't helps:
Then it means that one (probably more) *.DLL's are corrupted, that also means a reinstall to get a good working system again.

That's how I see it from here.

Larry's avir will work, or should anyway.
It's just a personnal preference I have for AVG.

4 kids ? lolz, you're productive, if I may say so.
I stopped on 3, and now I'm stuck with their offspring.
