I've got a Pentium-S 200mhz computer and i'm looking for some names of first person shooters that will run. I currently have Unreal Tournament 2. I got Delta Force 2 for $12.99CND but won't run due to "Non MXX" or "non MMX" (not sure which) "compatable processor. But if any of you guys could throw out some names for me that'd be great.

I'll assume you've already tried the games listed on dosgames.com ... however board member Bobo's site has several 3D shooting games that aren't listed on the main dosgames.com site:

Another good source is 3dGamers.com ... you can sort by year, so that you can be pretty sure which ones will work with your computer.

hmm Try Shadow Warrior, Blood, Blood II, Duke Nukem 3d and the two Blake Stone games to start with. Those are good games.

In general almost any game released in 1998 or earlier. If the year on the box is 1999 or later, you can assume your computer is too weak to run it. Especially since your chip only has 16 KB L1 cache (Pentium 200 MMX has 32 KB L1 cache).

Is the machine connected to the internet? Maybe tribes will run on it.

To answer unknown K it's not connected to the internet and I tried tribes (maybe tribes 2) and it ran alright with a tiny bit of choppiness. I want to get half-life (counterstrike) will that run tho? To give people a general idea of the power of the computer here's a list of some of the games it has:

Fifa 99
Tomb Raider 2
Worms World Party
Unreal Tournement (Game Of The Year Edition)
Shadow Watch

I sometimes get a bit of slowdown in fifa and tomb raider when there's alot going on at one time

If it runs UT, it will definitely run Halflife ... you will probably have to turn some of the details down of course but I think you won't have any problems running it.

Altho its loading kinda slow for me, it seems like this would be a good source:

http://www.planetblood.com/

Or any on these lists, check the Blood and/or Blood II categories:
