Mysterious browser game, puzzle solving on a weird planet [Grow Cube]

Post by ge0rg1e »

Hi all. Trying to remember an old game I used to play. It would have been in the early 2000's, possibly earlier. Here's what I can remember about it:

- The game loaded on one web page
- The game featured a cartoony planet - you could see the whole thing - floating in space (black with stars)
- The user could click to various areas of the planet, which would make the planet spin slowly on its axis to the new area
- The gameplay involved solving puzzles, which would "unlock" another part of the planet. The puzzles would be mysterious, like you didn't know exactly what you were supposed to do. For example, there might be a ball and a slide and you had to figure out how to get the ball to the top of the slide and slide it down. This is just an example, not an actual puzzle.
- There was a mysterious order to the puzzles too - you had to figure out in which order to solve the puzzles or else you'd hit dead ends
- The imagery was comic style illustration, fairly low-res, not photo-realistic

This ring a bell with anyone? Or did I dream it?

I just looked that up and while it looks amazing, it's definitely way higher-def than the game I remember playing. Thanks, though!

So it was a browser game, not a Windows game?

Correct - sorry, I will correct that if I can. I was thinking PC vs. console, but yes, I remember loading it in browser.

And I was thinking that the fact that it was played in browser at that time probably means it was made in Flash.

UPDATE: I found it! It's Grow Cube.

OK, so it's very different from I described, but this is it. Thanks, all, for helping to jog my memory.
