Windows First-Person Mystery Game(?)

First off, I don't know whether this might be after 2000 or before 2000. But, this is the first game-finding forum I've stumbled across. The game I am trying to find is on windows, is first person, and might be a mystery game. The only part I remember is the beginning where you are walking along a path in a forest, and you receive a call. (Also, there was closed captioning). After the call is over, you walk over to a bench and pick up a newspaper about a disappearance, I think. That's really all I remember. If you can find it, then seriously, kudos to you!
