Bands / acts you've seen live...

Post by GAMER »

With the popularity of the Mandatory listening thread, i decided we should share some experiences of bands / acts we've seen live.

Please note, you may only talk about 5 shows at a time...

Alright. In no particular order, these are 5 of my favourite shows.

* Pennywise with Goons of Doom - great show, the band is old as hell, but damn they rocked. Best circle pits i have ever seen. Singer dude stage dived and joined in the skanking. Haha. My ex broke his nose.

* Strung out - I've seen them twice now, once in the day at some beach park thing a few years ago, and once at an amusement park. The first time i saw them has to be one of the best days of my life. They played with Frenzal Rhomb, Bagster and Useless ID.

* The Specials - Again, an amazing experience. About two years ago now. Neville reached into the crowd and shook my hand. I have the set-list in my room and i hugged the trumbonist. :) Ghost Town has to be the best song i have ever seen performed.

* The Lemonheads - Last easter. They were great. Man that guy is a tripper. There were kids on the roof of the stage. No-one was moving though. Still a great show. Pretty short set.

* Goldfinger and Reel Big Fish - About a year ago. Reel Big Fish really let me down coz i'd been a fan since i was about 11 but hadn't been able to see them play till this show. They ruined it for me. But Goldfinger rocked it so hard. Haha.

Okay. Now you share.

I have seen a grand total of 4 concerts of note ...

Weezer - At Molson Amphitheatre for the green album tour ... opening band was Dashboard Confessional ... so a lot of young screaming girls in the crowd heh. But it was a great show, =w= is still one of my favs.

Foo Fighters - At Arrow Hall ... one huge mosh pit ... spent the concert making sure my friend (4'11" girl) didn't get injured. :o Good show, tho the opening band sucked whoever they were. Dave Grohl is one passionate guy.

Foo Fighters x2 - At Molson Amphitheatre ... this was a better show, Sloan opened and were AWESOME I was so impressed, I woulda been satisfied had Foo never showed up ... but Foo were great too! Overall this was my fav.

RHCP - At Air Canada Centre ... didn't really wanna go, not a big RHCP fan and the tickets were expensive ... but ppl convinced me :P Opening band was Mars Volta which I didn't enjoy, RHCP themselves were meh. Not worth the $

Wow. Weezer and Dashboard would have been good.

Not a fan of Foo Fighters though, i have heard they put on a good live show.

You know, it took me about 5 minutes to work out who "RHCP" were. :P

Badly want to see Strung Out and Bad Religion, but the show is on right in the middle of my "australians-are-crap-and-our-entire-future-is-decided-by-one-set-of-exams" exams. :(

Going to see Good Charlotte soon though. :)

I've been to Warped Tour a couple years ago, and that's about the only concert like event I've gone to.

Billy Idol- A legend. I liked this live performance because instead of the 80s synth stuff, he had a pretty good band. The guitarist was hardcore. And when Billy took off his shirt....¡ay Dios mio!

The Offspring- Another great group. I don't know as much of their music as my friends did, but they put on a good show.

Avenged Sevenfold- Badass. The old stuff sounded better because the lead singer couldn't scream anymore. So it sounded much better. That pit was scary as shit though.

When a man loves a woman,
Can't keep his mind on nothin' else,
He'd change the world for the good thing he's found.

She'll make him a sandwich when he's hungry
Clean his clothes when they are gross
Threesomes tend to happen all the most.

He will beat her into submission
choke that bitch
When she talks about gettin' hitched

Man I love that song.

Remember Wardrich, there are women amongst us now. Ms Dosraider and Coldie may be offended by your sexism. Tsk tsk.

Cools. I likes Matthew Good ... though I'm not sure I'd want to go to a concert, he's one of those guys that I enjoy in moderation but not a whole bunch of songs in a row.

Yeah, he's good and all, but I'd expect a Matt Good show to be like one where everybody is sitting down... that's not my scene.
