The first computer games were Kingdom of Kroz, Carmen Sandiego and a really old version of Simcity. I played them on a monochrome (green and black) screen at around 1992.

The earliest I remember playing and enjoying (when we finally got a decent Pentium computer and a good monitor) was Commander Keen 1.

Oh I completely missed the first part; that would probably have been... Curse Of The Azure Bonds.

The first games I can remember playing were QBASIC Nibbles and Epic Megagames ZZT/Super ZZT. (We had both) That was in 1991. Other early games were a coloring game (I can remember learning how to use M.S. DOShell to find it), the Carmel Sandiago games, Treasure Mountain (TLC), Math Rabbit (TLC), the Super Solvers games, and just about every MECC game ever made. (My uncle worked for MECC back in the day, so lots of free games)

Hmmm first games ... I also remember LSL, tho I had to leave the room during certain parts :D In terms of computer games, that's one of the first I specifically remember ...

Oh, I also remember I was playing Islands of Danger during a summer break when I was pretty young while my dad was at work. For some reason the computer locked up, and when I rebooted ... nothing happened. I was scared sh*tless cuz I broke my dad's computer! :wow: In retrospect, it seems unlikely that it was the game that totally wrecked the HD or whatever, it prolly was a hardware failure that just happened to occur right then. 'course I didn't know that at the time ...

Hmm, the oldest game I can remember playing was Major Motion for the Atari ST, a family friend lugged his computer out to our farm, and set it up so we could play it. With thanks to TSM I was able to find this game again, and get addicted!

The first game I remember playing on a computer that our family owned was Stunts. I always thought it was cool how you could put a CD in (cause they were new) listen to music, and play the game at the same time.

This isnt related to a game. Its more related to hardware and emmzees statement.

Back then wasnt a 40mb HDD like $700?

Re: 40mb HDD ... well I don't remember what year that was exactly but ... yea. The HD in one early computer we had was 20mb ... which made installing Willy Beamish a pain since it took up like 8megs or something lol

I suppose it was this 'game'. It came with a computer training program which was quite fun. I have a copy of it on a 'last in amsterdam' diskette, a local promotion.

Anyway, the game: http://s55.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3EGJ ... L8CIOV6DG1
