Ebay is good for a lot off things. Like a $1.15 River City Ransom cartridge for NES. ^_^ A quick look through on Ebay and you can find all sorts of old DOS games. Descent was pretty cheap, as was Privateer, Wing Commander, etc etc. Ebay is good if you actually have a method of paying online............

Triple posting ahoy.

You can't defeat Robo Red, he's simply invinceable. I've had a grand time messing around with him as a kid, but he can't be defeated, only bypassed. [trust me, I've tried to kill him. Apparently 400 shots doesn't even faze him.....]

I don't know, but if you're in windows ME, I'm surprised so many work for you. If that new game doesn't work, DOSbox should solve any problems that you may have. Maybe, I don't know for sure.

Is this, perchance, still about Beneath A Steel Sky? If so, keep it to that one thread, please.

And if www.gamefaqs.com has nothing to offer for help, then good luck otherwise.

That there sounds like Street Rod. The Pink Slip or money betting is there, the fixing up of your car, etc etc, it's the best I can get from your description.

The first one is here, Second in the series here.

Hope I could help, if those are indeed what you're looking for.

I wouldn't mind posting a story I wrote up here. I plan to publish it one day, so I want as many people to read it and give me what they think about it so I know what to change to make it better and stuff. Problem is, it's 213,200 characters long. I don't think this forum could handle that much text...

Okay.... Before I state my problem, I'll say that I have Windows 98 SE that is an absolute dream for running most DOS games [Descent, anyone?] but for some things I still need DOSbox for. [Monkey Island, Jazz Jackrabbit, etc] And, well, I'm trying to run my all time favorite DOS game on this compute...

Descent sound is buggy

I downloaded the descent demo, installed it, and whatnot, but the sound doesn't work. I'm in XP, and I can't get dosbox or vdm sound to work. note, the sound EFFECTS. I chose general midi for music and that works fine. In the setup screen, the only sound configuration that works is plain sound blast...
