Installing FreeDOS in 86Box: A step-by-step guide [HOWTO]

Here's my FDCONFIG.SYS with an added JEMMEX load mode that supports The Elder Scrolls: Arena . This game does not work under FreeDOS out of the box, but loading JEMMEX with the following parameters helps (as suggested by JEMMEX developer): DEVICE=C:\FreeDOS\BIN\JEMMEX.EXE MAX=32M MIN=48 I=B000-B7FF ...

I've found a very neat SC-55 soundfont to use with 86Box:
https://github.com/trevor0402/SC55Soundfont

Just set the MIDI card to FluidSynth and point it to the sf2 file.

Did I understand you correctly that you played this in the browser, i.e. it was an online game? If so, we may not be of much help, unless you remember exactly what site you played this on. You might be able to access a copy of that site via the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine.

90s, Minesweeper graphics, reach the exit step by step

Was it something like the CGA Robots game? (which is a modern remake of something old that I'm not familiar with, but may have similar gameplay)

Installing FreeDOS in 86Box: A step-by-step guide [HOWTO]

86Box with FreeDOS offer an interesting alternative to DOSBox. 86Box accurately emulates x86 hardware, which may provide advantages when running certain games at a consistent speed or without glitches. Since I found no useful guide for installing FreeDOS in 86Box, I had to figure it out myself. It'...

@MrFlibble: your first link shows a trailing 'equal' sign attached to it I must have made an error when pasting the URL and accidentally put it before the equal sign instead of after it. This is now fixed, thanks for pointing it out! BTW, the version of phpBB here allows for proper mentioning by us...

Are the game-mechanics in thes teek web-application exactly like in the old original?

I don't know, but there is a web version of the DOS game you can play here: It's not a DOS game, it's a Win3.x one and that site just runs DOSBox with an installed version of Win3.1 to run it (which is kind of a shady practice to me). Drachenbauer , why do you think that we know the game so well we...

List of free closed source games

The list in the first post of this thread has been updated in a major way, with more games and a more detailed (and hopefully more accurate) genre breakdown. It's not meant to be exhaustive, but I tried to list as many good, complete closed-source games as I could. For historical reference, here's t...

The devs site ingava.com seems to have disappeared just as this game came out, I guess free games don't make a profit in the long run It looks like ingava.com was just a free game aggregator site. The game's title screen names a certain Mark Aufderheide as the developer, and here it is stated that ...

Strange, they do work for me: dosgames forum Also I'm not sure if it is possible to change the text editor interface by admins, I suppose it comes built-in with the phpBB engine. I will contact Darren anyway, because the phpBB version needs to be updated. Perhaps it will fix the problem on your end.

It was initially payware, but seems to have been set free by the devs after some time, not sure the download links work, but it's small files. The download for that particular game works, but I haven't tried to run the installer on my machine. Thanks for the detective work in tracking it down! BTW,...

SPEEDY - An OLD Dos Game [Solved]

Correction: Speedy by WSP-Software. HomeBrew Software was the North American (?) distributor, but WSP-Software was the developer, they were from Germany.

What is this MS/DOS Murder Mystery Game? [The Scoop]

maliya1, if you mean this game, MobyGames suggests it came out in 2015. However, the original request was made in 2010, so it can't be that game.

Also note that the original poster confirmed that the game they were looking for it The Scoop, which came out in 1987.
