Havnt seen a GUS forsale in a while, I figure a game made for 286 will run fine in a 386, plus the 386 can be taken out of turbo and run at 8mhz.. that should be slow enough for the real old games.

Old soundcard for retro box

Whats the best sound card for the older dos games? I use a sb16+ yamaha dx50 wavetable addon for the last generation dos games on a p200mmx (shitcanned the 486), and now I am looking at a 286/386 system for the games that run too fast on the pentium. I have a reveal brand original soundscape card, a...

I voted for the pirates. If you cant buy the game from the publisher then how are they losing any money at all? If they had some class all their abandoned games and programs should be released to the public domain. That wont hurt them if they decide to update the franchise with a new game. Also if y...

Microsoft needs some good developers for the xbox. I am rooting for them because they are the only ones that can get console gaming on the internet to work (sony doesnt have a clue and nintendo.. well gamecube will probably be the last console they make)

Doom3 will be a completely different game.

the first 2 had a great techno soundtrack and dozens of monsters behind every door.

Doom 3 will be all scenery and a few monsters.

That may be a bit difficult. The copy of Doom that we have came from a Goodwill Industries thrift store, sometimes second hand stores and rummage sales are good places to look for older games. Non profit organizations can bypass some of the copywrite laws and sell software. Also check what the publ...

Must be a form of linux (since winmodems use proprietary code and linux users cant make drivers for it)

Is it a form of QNX or something?

My collection reflects the fact that I never played any of the snes and gba games and have no idea which ones are good, so I grabbed them all.

I am interested in the PCI one for my 486 dos box, (dont have a vlb motherboard anymore). Is there any ram on the unit? Do you have docs or drivers for it? I figure $10 for the card (and disks/docs if you have them) plus shipping would be ok (hoping you have ram for it)
