SIMM memory: What is the maximum size?

I have just bought a lot of SIMM-MEMORIES, but, unfortunately, i have only 2 slots on my motherboard, and I couldn't go over 16 MB. I know that tis kind o f memory must be installed "in pairs", but, I would like to know the maximum size for a single-simm memory. Aren't there any 128 MB-SIMM?

What about the non-original chipsets?

I heard about some non-original chipsets, called VXPro, VXPro+, TXPro, HXPro, FXPro... Can you tell me something more? I saw a lot of Pentium-motherboards with these chipsets, and, if you don't want extra-performance, they run very well.

Can't use the COM port! Help me!

I built a "new" computer: Pentium-MMX 200 MHz, 256 MB DIMM SDRAM, 4 GB (1st HD), 6 GB (2nd HD), CD-ROM 52x, Motherboard Soltek REV-MVP3, video card Nvidia RIVA TNT2, audio Ess1868. What do you think about this computer, for dos games? But I have to use an USB-mouse because there isn't the ...

You 're all right! I have to buy a "new" old-computer! I live in Italy, so tomorrow there is a fair near Milan, then I will go and I will buy a 486DX2/66 MHz, some video cards, some audio cards (what about the YAMAHA OPL-3 and the ESS-1868 for dos games?) and a lot of motherboard for Penti...

Your Pentium 200 runs Windows XP, then! If it isn't a problem, could you write me your hardware configuration? It's a Pentium-S or a Pentium-MMX?

So, you are saying that, if the bios couldn't see an hard disk, i could use a PCI ata controller for using the drive? Because, if it is true, I will go out now and i will buy an ata-controller. I'm going to build a computer for dos games, using internet, listen to music and, of course, making tests....

Big troubles with a 286

i have a AMD 286-16 Mhz, 3 MB RAM, 200 MB HD and video cirrus logic. I have a lot of troubles with this machine: first, the keboard seems to write the characters on the screen very very late on windows 3.1 (but not in dos); second, I don't know what vga is installed. windows recognise it as a VGA, b...

I can't say much about passwords, because I never used them, but with a Pentium-MMX 166 MHz, Windows XP should run quite well... believe me, I tried and it worked!

ANOTHER PROBLEM: THE CACHE and the VOLTAGE

Thanks for the answer, but I still have some problems. I read that a Pentium (non-MMX) requires 3.3V, while the Pentium-MMX CPU requires something like 2.8V. Could I risk to burn the MMX if I ran the PC without setting the voltage? And, after that, what about the cache? Is it integrated in the Penti...

Thanks, but...

Thanks for your answer, but my problem is a bit strange: my old Pentium-case is a MINI-TOWER with an AT connector, so I have to find a BABY-mainboard (i mean that I need a kind of motherboard that is smaller than the usual motherboards). I was wondering if I could find, for example, a motherboard wi...

I WOULD LIKE TO TRY, TOO!

I really love old computers, like Pentium and Pentium MMX. So, I'm going to buy (used, of course) a Socket7-mainboard with the AT connector, with a Pentium-MMX 200 MHz. I would be very interested in putting on this PC Windows XP Professional, with Service Pack 1 (I haven't the 2 version, yet) and us...
