I got it to run on my normal gaming rig, by setting cpu cycles to max in dosbox (defend).
It still complains the game will be slow on the starting screen, but I can press enter to make it continue, and it plays fine, with sounds and all :-)

Any strategy/building elements, or just a shooter?
Were you a lone fighter against the enemy, or did you have others to help you or perhaps command?
Did the tank use caterpillar tracks, walking legs, or hover?

Guest spammer 'ot61p4a9ac' is alerting us to the dreadful spam state of 'ql61i4'. They cannot describe their spamming situation in words anymore, and have resorted to encrypting all their messages into the included drivel, thus hoping to escape their local spam-police. I guess it says 'help, help, I...

I searched for a airplanes and cars, the only one I found was this: http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/carmageddon-2-carpocalypse-now but it was already in the previous list, and I don't think you drive the aircraft. Did the car/plane models look realistic or arcady, or maybe futuristic, like spa...

Oh, I just pointed you to it, you still had to do the work.

As for Dosraider & Laffer, they don't leave any notice to me, but they'll be back, I'm sure. ;-)

I started looking through some of the possible games, there are hundreds of them.

here is a list of vehicular combat games:

'Twisted Metal' might be similar to your game, but I saw no aircraft in the screenshots.

Well, if plain DOS is confusing you, perhaps you could try a DOSBox front-end.
It makes the configuration part more like a menu, though the game still runs in DOS as usual.

You could look some over at:

(Personally, I'm using D-Fend Reloaded.)

Aha, it's a Win3.x/Windows game, that's why it didn't show in the listings.
Good you found it.

I concur with MrFlibble, the game is likely Darker, and I've played it.

(Another similar style ground skimmer game I've played is Starglider, but it was all in vector graphics)

@ 486 player: I assume the 'Fatal Choice' game you ask about is the one listed at the bottom here:

http://www.qbasic.net/en/qbasic-downloa ... tion-1.htm

I've tried it, and so far I'm at lvl5, but I'm getting fried at the exit;
since there are level passwords, do you have the lvl8 pwd handy?

Something that looks like what you played here? (I assume this is a DOS game)

You can change the filters to try different combinations of attributes.
