I recall several favorites, in different genres of course; WC Privateer, Monkey Island, Little Big Adventure 1/2, EF2000, Ultima Underworld, Crusader:No Remorse/Regret, War of the Worlds - all good DOS oldies, but I'm not much for replaying, good memories are better sometimes.

Hmmm...I'll throw in a longshot:

Revolution X: it has a 2-player mode, some parts are with a Pacific scenery, and multiple (5) 'heroes'; i.e. Aerosmith.

KGB/Conspiracy had it's uniqueness, open but unforgiving. Usually detective stories try to control & lead your actions more closely, like many other adventure games. Some other detective games/series: CSI series (many to choose from, sometimes bordering on hidden-object games) http://www.mobygames.c...

Nothing that triggers any memories, but you could perhaps give a timeframe?
Is it in DOS or Windows (1/2/3) Win95/98/XP?

(old means different things to different people)

Did you try it with everything taken out, even the single memory stick? At least the power supply is not dead, so it's a start. (If you have a DC voltage meter, you could verify the respective voltages too, with the power supply on it's own, just to be sure) ESD (static discharges) is a common kille...

I see it's an actual PIII, so then the spec page I found was wrong for the model of PC. (I think DELL also used to reconfigure their high-end machines without changing the designation, so the exact specs varied a bit through the years, maybe this is why.) I know that DELL at about that time had cust...

[quote="tienkhoanguyen"]My machine is a core 2 duo and it is still a Pentium. I got it from BestBuy - HP20002d24DX. It was one of the lower price ones. If the drives are not working, it may be a PSU problem, or a short somewhere. The PSU fan might just turn on&off for a sec if there is a short on the load. (It needs a minimum basic load for regulating, like a harddrive, then one can test the voltages) If you feel up to it, remove the memory modules...

Yes, shovel-wares are allowed at Mobygames, though the included games should be documented separately, the compilations themselves are of secondary interest. Here is one such bundle: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/best-of-mega-games (On large compilations, splitting the included lists in several ...

Or perhaps the prequel to what Quadko suggested: 'Archimedean Dynasty' ?

(Assuming it's DOS and PC)

Otherwise, here's a submarine themed list:

Yes, there is, but there are thousands. Themes are a subset of the game groups. In this case I found the list by looking at an existing game, that already had a submarine theme assigned to it. http://www.mobygames.com/browse/game-groups http://www.mobygames.com/browse/games It's rather unwieldy thou...

One of my favorite old action-adventures. (recently remade for mobile platforms)
There was an attempt to make a prequel, but it petered out eventually, a demo was finished though.
