Mid 1980s medieval vertical scroller with bats

One of the Knightmare series perhaps? Most are for other platforms, but there was a DOS freeware port, maybe that is what you played?

point and click ... with a boat

I wonder, did you have an objective, like navigating to a specific place, and did you get there eventually? I recall a follow-up game module to Dink Smallwood, in which you started on the ocean, and you had to cause the ship to change course, or you never got past the first section...there was a lot...

Any opinions about Microsoft's announcements?

I've actually picked up a couple of older consoles & suitable games, like an original Xbox & a PS2 just to see what the hubbub was all about way back when they were new...turned out to be 'much ado about nothing' (so far), IMO of course. What Microsoft (or other console manufacturers) announces does...

The chaos engine (DOS), code asked

It could be some PC-specific manual copy-protection thing; I don't see it listed in the Amiga manuals available online. I don't have the game myself, but if you got it in a legal way, I suggest you ask the seller? (Otherwise GoG seems to have it available) In this video playthrough the question come...

Something like 'Team Fortress 2' I gather, maybe 'Monday Night Combat', but it is a bit later.

There is also this wiki page for older fps games to look at: https://90sfps.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Game

Looking for old demo cd's DOS/windows

'Dizzer' seems to just have been a label used by a CD distributor 'CD Promotions'; I saw one (Dutch) CD online with 175 games in one Cd, presumably mostly shareware/demos. Hard to pinpoint which games you played, as they probably had a series of releases under the 'Dizzer' label. https://www.retroga...

Assuming you played as a robot, there is this group to look through: https://www.mobygames.com/game-group/protagonist-robot I'm thinking of 'Machinarium', which is from 2009, but I'm not sure about the Turtle thing. https://www.mobygames.com/game/machinarium The Disney movie 'Robots' perhaps, it's f...

So, you are playing as a slime-type creature?
There is a group that might have some similar creatures:

I doubt it was Shivers, as its story took place in a museum, though there were spirits in various rooms/objects...no bedrooms though.

Other suggestions: 'The 7th Guest' or maybe 'The 11th Hour', these are also horror puzzle games of the same era.

Hmm...there is a game I found for Dreamcast which has a similar story: 'Record of Lodoss War'; you are resurrected by a wizard etc. It was not released for any Playstation what I could see in the group tor the Lodoss universe, but maybe take a look? https://www.mobygames.com/game/dreamcast/record-of...

Wow...not batman at all; and with that title I expected a Picachu in the game.

Well, the one likely site I found referred only to their 'dutch releases' so maybe that was just a subset of all they released. I've never seen them anyway. If they only did warez releases, then it's unlikely to be an AGS based game, as most I've seen are freeware/shareware; warez tend to be more com...

So it's a dutch warez game bundle? That will not help in finding it, unless there is a forum at their site where you can ask? (not posting a link)
