That's true, they do run fine in Dosbox.

Ultimately, it's up to Sue. :)

I would recommend the older Toshiba Tecra laptops if you can find them in good shape. The 400 to 700 series. The 8100 Tecra is also a good idea, it is quite the tough laptop too. Maybe the CPU cooler is still all mucked up with the beer remains? This might cause it to spin slower than needed and the CPU might switch to a lower clock speed to avoid overheating.

Just a theory, really. But worth looking at?

Hey Greenbarron, maybe these maps will help?

I am just curious, but why not use ScummVM to run the Lucasarts adventure games?
All those would need is the data files of the games (the .001 and .sou files) and that would be enough.

Sorry if I missed any specific reason why dosbox is the (required) choice.

Just curious! :)

If not for the water, I would suggest Wild Metal (Country) but another possibility could be Infestation ( http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/infestation ) although that one's from 2000 and it's unlikely you could play that on a 486.

Well, another possible match is Machines. Though the units were all robots of many types, you could mix and match parts and you could take control of them directly.

Dogs of War, perhaps? That was an RTS that let you take control of units.
