Umm, I followed that guide and it still isn't working. Has anyone played this game except me?

I've been playing the old Police Quest games (the first two anyway), but in PQ2 the steelton police department phone number just leads to some idiot like any random number. Because of this after I get to steelton I always lose the game, the number I've been using is 407 555 2677.
Any ideas?

I'm kinda new to old games, I grew up with a crappy computer I had been given and never got any new games so I had Sopwith 1(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sopwith_(computer_game)) and space quest one.
