You don't need Alcohol to make the image available to DOSBox. DOSBox can mount ISO and CUE/BIN images directly.

Copy/move the image to your C:\Games folder and try this in DOSBox:

imgmount D C:\Games\theimage.iso -t iso

If you are lucky, it will solve the speed detection problem too.

I own this one, bought in in 2000 for $4.50(!). It's pretty good, but Freespace 2 is the masterpiece of the series. Ever played it? No, haven't played FS 2. In fact, I haven't played many of the games I have (don't kill me please  ). I like to collect them, like the big, old boxes, the same way...

Nice, how is that star trek game.? Haven't tried it yet. Loaded up Myst and it ran okay on Windows XP, but with a very small grahics window. I am thinking about buying Win98 and run it (and other early Windows games) in an VMware instance. Should allow for more flexibility, and minimize the risks o...

Bought these games today

Battle Isle 2, by BlueByte, 1993. I already have the game, but only as part of a 3-games box. Box is a little worn at the edge, but otherwise okay. Even comes with update 1.0.5 on a 3½ diskette with BlueByte print. Star Trek - Hidden Evil, by ActiVision, 1999. Box is in perfect condition. Myst, by ...

Joe_Oh, how much I appreciate your efforts about that game you won't find me on your MSN, simply because that's for my kids/grandchildren or my family only. You could set up alternate MSN accounts. I use Miranda as my IM client and are currently logged in with 3 MSN, 2 Yahoo, and one AIM, ICQ, and ...

Dogbreath brought up 2 reasons why Iran should not be allowed to have nuclear weapons. One of them was this: 1) The ruling class is murdered, the government is overthrown, and some fanatical group takes over the nuclear launch facility. 2) Iran gets it's nukes, and, thinking itself invulnerable, dec...

Good - because if there were the slightest chance of a fanatic, muslim coup happening in Pakistan, then we better demand that Pakistan hands over their nuclear weapons to the USA.

Another situation: Iran gets it's nukes, and, thinking itself invulnerable, declares war on Israel or any other surrounding nation. Because of their advanced military and superior numbers, they win, <snip> It will be a strange type of "win". Israel has nuclear weapons, and I don't think t...

Do you truely believe him to be clueless (as in dumb and unable to learn)? More or less. He seems to be the typical puppet leader type, a figurehead for the Imams and Clerics holding the reigns. If he realized he was a puppet, he'd be better at playing the role, and wouldn't go about making ridicul...

It is nothing I have tried, but don't your NVIDIA control panel/driver/utility have something that allows you to set certain presets when a given program is run?

If so, maybe you can set it to always run in 60 Hz mode when Wolfenstein 3D is launched?

In a fewer words: id Software broke the GPLv2 license that DOSBox is distributed under.

(but I guess that is non-consequential to this forum)
