A bit off-topic, but I've been thinking lately that the phrase "old game" (and even "old nineties game") is becoming increasingly non-descriptive (and therefore unhelpful). Maybe we could add a small "read before you post" section with hints about what information is r...

Sounds EXACTLY like Spy Hunter, which was for various old platforms. Didn't know there was a DOS version. I had it for the BBC Micro. You drive in to the trucks and get an upgrade I think, which can be wheel spikes, smoke screen, or oil slick. The game was pretty easy except for now and then a car w...

Oops, don't know why I wasn't logged in then. Can't edit that post to add this:

The title music of Elite II isn't Night on Bald Mountain. I'm told them music is in the game, but I've seen the title screen when I youtubed it to check it. That game looks very Star Trekky. Cheers though.

Scorched Earth?

There are lots of games like that. Sort of a precursor to Worms.

Old games I remember that had theme parks:

Theme Park (Not creepy at all, and I'm sure you know it)
Sanitarium (This one IS CREEPY, but the amusement part stage isn't too near the start)
Monkey Island 2 (Has an amusement park theme toward the end)

All I can think of. :/

Could it be CaveQuest?

You enter a dungeon number, and the graphics are ultra basic, but not quite text as I thought. I was looking for this a while ago and just got lucky!

There was a BBC Micro game like that called Survivors. There were three robots you switched between, each with different abilities. One could clear earth, one pushed boulders, and one collected survivors.

Captain Comic? Nah, probably not. You collected Blastola Cola collectibles, it had a side-bar. Cannot remember an underground cave with fiddely geometry, but memories mix up, like you say. ;/
