Mid-90s shmup

Few clues.
In year 8 around 95
Cant remember if dos or early Windows 3.1?
Forward scrolling space ships.
Very colourful "tablet shaped" ships.
Jumping from lane to lane, thinking keyboard and spacebar.
I think there were powerups.
Possibly survival or endurance rather than a race.
Pretty sure there were levels.
Any help, greatly appreciated.
