Flightmare is a CGA action/strategy game where the goal is to shoot down your opponents in 3D. Now the 3D here is rather primitive since this game is from 1984. There are two phases, a map phase (where you fly around and choose to engage the enemy) and a combat phase. The combat phase shows your plane from both the side, and from the top. You need to use two sets of movement keys to line your targets up on both axes before you can hit them. This is, as the in-game instructions attest, quite difficult to do. I imagine this game would be enjoyable for those willing to put in the time to grapple with the controls! It's definitely unique.
