Eamon (aka "The Wonderful World of Eamon") is an example of a very early PC RPG game. Originally created by Donald Brown on the Apple II in 1979, this version was ported by Jon Walker nearly 10 years later. It is text-based, and after creating your character and rolling your stats, you enter commands to perform actions, working sort of like a simple text adventure game, but one with more emphasis on weapons, armor, and combat. The town provides a place to make your purchases. The game itself is pretty bare-bones, but since it was based on a game from 1979 we can probably overlook that! The EAMON.DOC file contains some important information regarding player stats and other things that aren't clearly explained in the game, but at least it gives you a list of commands if you enter some word that the game isn't expecting (ex, "TAKE" instead of "GET")
