Digital Downs

Digital Downs is a horse racing simulation game. I am not too familiar with how real horse racing works, but this seems like a reasonable attempt to simulate the actual thing using decent EGA graphics and even some sound effects. You start off with some money (you specify how much) and then you can bet on horses. You're given the odds of each horse, then whether you want the horse to win, place, or show, and other options. There are also apparently weather effects, different abilities of jockeys, and other considerations that will factor into the results. When you're ready, you get to actually watch the horses (really colored dots) racing. If you're looking for a horse racing game this seems like a decent option unless you want to play a multiplayer game, because the unregistered version is single-player only.
