Batlia is a two-player combat deathmatch game. You and a human opponent (no CPU opponent available) fly your ships around a screen with a randomly-chosen layout (chosen from a variety of pre-set layouts, not randomly generated) and try to blast each other. It's similar to (and perhaps inspired by) Combat on the Atari 2600 and other similar games. Except for the intro and title screens, the game is presented in text mode. Not the deepest game but for a DOS alternative to Combat it plays well enough. Make sure the cycles are turned way down! (Apparently this game was originally made for the authors' high school project and it got an A!)
