Some kind of pixel virus game [=Plague]

Must have been made between 1980 and 1995; my personal guess is 1987-1990

It played a little bit like "pixel zombies" but this is a generalization.

In it, you could "spray" people on the map. "people" were just pixels. Some moved slow (meanderers) and some fast (travellers)

The map had walls (sometimes) that would limit where "people" could move.

You could adjust the "virus" to make it more infectious, more deadly, etc.

I think green pixels were either dead or infected (or both)

And that's about all I remember.

This is the visual I have in memory:

A few more notes

It was a game that ran on DOS, but might have also run on Amiga, Commodore, etc.

If the game was made with "cutting edge" graphics, it limits it to older than 1985, but if it was made "simplistic" it could be as new as 1995.

I have looked for this game before using google, many times, and failed. It was not a well known popular game.

this game

appears to be a modern successor.

It seems to work in an identical manner and for identical reasons. It simply appears to be a decade newer than the game I have in mind, and thus, has better graphics and more options (like being being infected without getting sick but being able to infect others)

John Shramko - he appears to have several published games, including Elevators from Hell. I remember that one. :) Cool!

John Shramko recently emailed and asked me if I could add Plague to playdosgames.com. Anyone looking for this game can now play or download it:
