The locked door over the ladder is a (one-way) trapdoor, it can open from the other side and is an alternate way into the cave.

You found your way into the cave from the green valley, I assume.

I haven't played it further, no gaming time until later on, but I recall there was some food in the castle kitchen - not too tasty, but the cat liked it.

I have not used it, so I don't know - but it was a 1991 3D map/world creation utility from Domark from what I read here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_Construction_Kit

I haven't played it (yet) but there was a hover-tank arcade wargame called 'Black Rein'. Win3.x & Win95 compatible (16 bit).
