I've had my current machine since I built it in January 2002.

The oldest machine I have is a Commodore 64 from the early 80's.

I have a few machines in my basement. One runs from a 200meg (well 400 with Doublespace Happy ). It's fun to fire them up and play with them for a bit.

The oldest DOS RPG I know of was mentioned above, Akalabeth (Ultima 0) from 1979.

I really loved Jones. It's ancient and not too common. I played it in the early 90's, back in 7th grade.

In the game you are this guy and you just get a job and have a life. It's simple, but fun.

Jdoom is great. My 2nd favorite remake is Zdoom.

You probably want to give one of these a try instead of using the original. All you need are thw WAD files.

I have a virtual machine with NT 3.51 that works great, high res 32 bit graphics, sound, ethernet. It's not the "real" thing, but it's the next best thing.

I've been searching far and wide for a Wolfenstien 3D remake, but haven't found anything recent. There's NewWolf and WolfGL, but both haven't been updated in years.

I personally use Windows 2000, but find it a bit buggy and crashes every now and then, but 2000 is probably my favorite OS.

The only reason Microsoft software is so full of bugs and has many virus ...
