I haven't heard of any virus that can literally destroy hardware, much less destroy a monitor (which functions independently from your OS). i don't get it... this makes no sense in my brain.

Ah, ok. What I meant is the controls resemble that of a console game. Happy The biggest annoyances BY FAR are how you can't have free mouselook and gratuitous strafing... even with the autoaiming feature ...

Small update.

apparently the problem was that the joystick wasn't correctly calibrated in win98, which is why the game got incorrect signals

Although this still doesn't explain the game constant ...
