ubuntu 6.06 lts x86

how do you install the nvidia drivers? i know...
apt-get install packagename
sudo sh blah.run
cd
dir
uname -s
how do i install it? it tells me it cant find the source for my kernel... how do i resolve this issue? (its been 3 days with no real help from the official ubuntu forums)
