What do you prefer?
Speed (Ghtz etc) or Performance of CPU
I believe
Performance is a must.
Many processors that are made do not go too fast as they are not made very well. But many of the apple (also made by intel people) processors are tested and made sure the performance is really high.
If you have tested and compared playing halo on a G5 and a pentium 4. The one that would go faster is the G5 because the processor is made to the highest standards and that is why apples are so expensive. |

Wow, you have no idea what your talking about.
ghz is a frequency. Like I said before on your foums. Higher frequancys USUALLY mean faster speeds, but processors depend more than on frequency. Performance = Speed. Now, if you want more OPTIONs, such as 64-bit, that's a diffrent story.
As per why you think G5 runs stuff better than a P4, that has NOTHING to do with either processor. Windows is bloatware. Windows-Based PC's are more complex then apple PCs. OSX is just plain faster than Windows, allowing more processing power. |

I guess Windows' bloatwareness is due to its versatility. If you have an OS designed for the entire human race, then bloatware is a necessity.
Dang. Efficiency is so precious... |

| Due to differences in architecture, AMD CPUs that run at frequencies of around 2-2.5GHz are able to outperform Intel CPUs that run at frequencies of around 3-3.5GHz. |

AMD has been doing that since the Pentium 1 era.
K-5 117 MHz / Pentium 166
K-5 133 MHz / Pentium 200 |

Yes.
AMD is made for games.
While Intel makes their's for DVD's and etc.
Atleast, I think that's the way it is. |
