I own it, I have tried to load it from my CD. I get a sound error every time. I found a "demo" version online, but it doesn't let me play. I loved this game.

Is your question about Settlers?
Runs fine in dosbox 0.72.

Don't know the problem,got it from HOTU works very fine in XP normally.

DosRaider, I do mean settlers. I tried to load it from my CD and it loads, but once it's loaded, I get a sound error and it won't run.

Ro@m, where is that (hotu)? I think I'll have to d/l the full version online somewhere since I get a sound error with my version. I've tried installing in dosbox (AFAIK the latest version) and in XP and I get the same issue.

BTW, did you mount the CD in dosbox? Did you also properly mounted a virtual C: ? Did you installed the game IN dosbox? Did you setup the sound correctly? Did you read this:
