Post subject: [Answered] Old Mental Maths game |
|
|
Hi all,
I have been trying to remember an old maths game from my childhood for a long time now, although I can remember everything about it, I cannot remember the name and have asked both my parents, but neither of them can remember either .
Here are some things about it I can remember:
There we many different modes within this game. The main menu had a drop down menu which detailed the level of sums you wanted to do eg: 1+2, 3-2, 8/2, all the way up to things like 3469/32 etc.
There were many different games you could play that would ask you these questions under different forms of time pressure.
For example, one of the games got you to answer questions to blast a rocket into space. Each time you answered a question correctly, it would get a bit more of a push, but then begin to fall again if you didn't answer the next question correctly.
Many of these games, including the above one also had a selectable difficulty level, from really easy to really hard.
Other game modes included shooting ducks (like at a fairground), navigating a screen of mouse traps and cheese using different sums as directions (1+3 for left, 4+2 for right etc). There was another where you had to uncover a picture, (which would become animated when completed), section by section like a jigsaw, and each section had to be uncovered by answering a sum.
My favorite mode in this game was one where it presented you with a page of sums, which you had to do as quickly and as accurately as you could. After you completed the page it would give you your results in the form of a bar chart, and then reward you with a few extra frames of an animation of a little raccoon like creature escaping form jail on his way home. This little raccoon begins by jumping into a container of water outside a saloon, then proceeds to run across a short stretch of desert and then jumps into the sea. He does fly a plane at one point, and parachutes out of it. I wont detail any more of that even though I remember more.
The only thing I can remember about the title is that it had something about mental maths in the title.
I hope I have given enough information and I hope someone can remember which game I mean!
Thanks for your time
David

edit: Bingo, well sorta, it's most certainly Mental Math Games by Kidsoft, however finding it... well that might be a bitch.

If all fails you might want to try contacting oldbushie and see if he'd like to share his copy with you |
