It was a really simple game, that I really liked from the 90's. I was young (10-13y/o) so I don't remember much, just that I loved it! I can't help remembering that i had to type it in dos, to start it. it was daymare.exe I'm almost 100% positive! I can't remember a title screen "which is why I'm here"

It was a fantasy, first person perspective, RPG game that at start of the program was you'd roll for your stats (there was a button to re-roll if you'd like.) When you start the game you would be what appeared to be in an open courtyard, with the entrance to the dungeon approx. 3 steps forward, in front of you. Inside the dungeon, you'd open the door (gate), and the 1st enemy you'd encounter would be an orange worm w/ a body length of maybe 4/5 circles. Unfortunately all that I can remember other than that was, that as you increased in level, there was a spell panel to the lower right that you would use symbol combinations to create a spell. (that was my favorite part!!)

I'd be so so soooo grateful if someone knows what game this is! I'd love to play it again! Thanks again for reading my post!

It wasn't a game, it downloaded as mp3 files. with names that started w/ daymare but looked like the rest was in french... I spent all night trying to google keywords like names of the spells, etc, but it was no use. I read alot of sites that had games with spell names: Burning hands, Divination, and Dispel. those are the only spells i could remember. And that the last bad guy was a huge flying skull! and it's not the beldur's gate series (cause I literally spent all night searching, and that came up most frequently, that and D&D!)

I'm resigned to the fact I might not be able to find it, which is too bad because if others were reading this post and found it, I'm sure they'd like it alot too! Thanks again!

Keep checking your topic once in a while, ya never know here.

And about 'daymare', that will probably be an abbreviation, as dos only can work with 8.3 format (8 for the name, 3 for the extension).

Can be it's something as 'A day's nightmare' or whatever.
Think 'bout "Zack Mc Kraken and the alien mindbenders", you will have a hard time finding that one if the only thing you remember of the files is 'start.bat'.

And yes: something all the regulars here know, you can't trust Wally.

[EDIT]
And dispel (dispell), WoW has a dispell one I thought, evenas some 1000 others.
Nevermind that.

Yep, that looks like the requested game.
One of those ported to PC Atari games.
Good thing some people are willing to put time in those ol games.

Thats cool, thanks Guest! Seems pretty certain that's what our original poster was looking for. I'll DL the game too for possible inclusion on DOSGames.com.
