DOS Games Discussion

I'm trying to find out the name of this game. Was a huge game, 'thought' it was DOS, and had an emulator to play on computer. I know there are emulators to play DOS games, but had the feeling this one had something different about it's emulator.
It started out with a man and his nephew, loads of levels (40+ from memory). The man gets locked in another room and the nephew says he'll meet up with him later (he's needed to get through some of the levels, with dynamite/switches/walls etc).
There are definitely Wraiths, but thought they were called WingWraiths or WraithWings. They kept coming out of little 'cacoons' and if you didn't get rid of the cacoons, they'd keep coming.
Can remember there was a huge online forum for the game, as well as other games that had been made by the same people. Don't think it was any of the bigger companies that made it though.
Other things I remember, keys, secret areas (usually through a wall that had to be broken away with the weapon (sword?)), lots of Strategy/Puzzles through out, to advance/go back a level was up/down stairs.
Have tried search engine hunts, but Wraiths are all the go now by the looks of the god knows how many games that came up, and none of the names are triggering any memory of this game.
