Post subject: DOSbox and Dark Sun 1: Gravis problems |
Hi guys. Registered here since I got Huggy's Gravis patches here. I am struggling with slowdowns, pauses and other signs of low performance running this game under DOSbox. I have fiddled with just about every option: sampling rates, renderers, scalers, cycles and so forth. The only thing that seems to help is switching from Gravis to another sound card emulated. Something about the Gravis sound causes most of my issues. I am about to give up and live with SB pro sound, but it is inferior which makes the perfectionist sad
Doesn't matter whether I use the PPL or standard Gravis stuff. Any suggestions on why this might be happening? Perhaps just a legacy problem with the game itself, I guess? Surprised I never heard of this before, but then again I think a lot of people just go with default DOSbox install and never hear the Gravis sound? |
