Post subject: Operative System! |
|
|
Is there anyway you can actually change between two different operative systems on one computer ?
Example: Win 95 - Win Vista ?
There is several games that i want to play that recuires win 95 and those games donīt work with DOS-box!
The simple answer is : Install the correct operative system on your computer but there is a way to change between two systems and the question is : HOW ?
/ Thanx.

As this is more about hardware, moved to where it belongs.
Dualboot W95/Vista isn't really the way to go, slim chances that you get W95 running on modern hardware, and there are almost no drivers to find for W95 suited for modern chips.
Dualboot W98SE/Vista has a bit higher success rate, but again, drivers?
And what's more, you need at least some extended basic knowledge to create successfully dualboot with Vista, Vista is kinda nitpicking about this, it can be done, but it's not for absolute beginners, really not. And as you're asking, it indicates you ain't ready for it.
To conclude: What Wally said or
VPC2007/W98SE.
About VPC2007/W98SE:
Install VPC2007 (freeware ourdays)
Create a new VM, allocate some 256 MB RAM, a HD of 20 GB should be enough (you always can adapt later if needed)
Install W98SE in the VM, after installation be sure to install the VMAdditions( are included in the VPC2007 download) to get best graphics/mouse/sound/shared folders compability and you have a VM that runs approx 75% of the ol' W3.x-W95-W98 games.
Only drawback is that VPC2007 doesn't support gaming without software settings, but most of those games had a software render setting.
With the shared folders comes the possibility to share a folder on the host via virtual LAN, so that you easily can share folders/files guest/host.
The best solution of course if you're in ol'W9x gaming is an old P1-P2-P3 PC with W98SE.
Real cheap stuff nowadays.
VPC or VMware can only be second best. |
