I was thinking about doing up a reference sticky of image hosts... Throw up your favourite(s).

Fumpr Image Shack Photobucket
Fastest site I've found so far. Not sure how long the images live on this site, though. Not too sure what the size restrictions are, either. One of the more popular sites, fairly fast at loading, allows all common image formats. Also allows you to resize the image and pick from different thumbnails. No images bigger than 1.53mb. Requires a free registration to use, upload speed is quite fast. Allows you to upload multiple images at a time, allows different option limitations to suit your needs best. Best option if you plan on using images more than once, since the other sites on this list are "disposable links" meaning that if you lose them, you're going to have to upload the picture again. Photobucket also allows you to have your own image galleries, and password protection for them so that nobody else can see the whole gallery.

Tinypic Hiboox VuloMedia
Tinypic allows you to host images or videos without the need to register. There is an option to register for an account if you wish, probably so you can keep track of your images. They also have a feature that allows you to add different effects to your uploaded images. As made obvious by the .fr domain, this site is all in french, and you do have to register for an account. That said, if you suck at deciphering foreign languages and aren't french, you should probably avoid this one. It's upload system is really nice, though. Didn't really spend much time on it, so I'm not sure what kind of restrictions it has. VuloMedia's interface is VERY simple. It's light weight and contains the bare essentials. That said, the site loads incredibly fast. After uploading an image, you're given the usual links and image preview, but also a "Kill Code" which is a unique hash that you can enter in at any time to remove your image off of the site.
xs.to
xs.to isn't the most visually attractive site in my opinion, the layout took a bit of time to load, too. The upload went at a reasonable speed, but I have seen faster. No account needed, but registration is available if wanted.

I must express my dislike for Photobucket, mainly because it has a habit of deleting your photos after a month or two. This is a little annoying for people like me who don't constantly update their photos, but still like having photos around for a year or three. (for avatars, sigs, "show yourself" threads, etc.)

Normally when hosting photos meant solely for this forum, I just abuse graciously and wisely use dosgames.com to host them. (The relative bandwidth use is small enough to go practically unnoticed)

Wardrich seemingly is a more scrupled man than I, as his image folder only as 2 images in it.

I use my personal site and sometimes my school's site (I really hope they never run out of bandwidth).

That's funny, I never had issues with Photobucket... And I've been using it for more than a year and a half.

*shrugs*

I gotta go with DB here. I've never been particularily fond of using image hosting websites for my images and etcetera at all anyhow... I almost always solely use my own hosting for that sort of thing (Zyrv).

I've seen quite a few "this image is no longer being hosted" placeholders from photobucket, but I've never had it happen to me. I've also seen a lot of those placeholders from imageshack. We'll have to see how fumpr holds up.

For a fun tidbit, I uploaded each host image to the host it represents. It'll be neat to see which one disappears first.

Weird, Hiboox seems to have re-sized my image.

Also: anybody else finding that Imagshack's logo takes the longest to load?

Private or not, as you wish.

And for the yuppies inbed your pics directly in MSN, Yahoo, or send it via MMS....
They seem to pay the server bills by offering to print out your pics on whatever support... (even coffee mugs)

[BTW]
Wardrich: A Canadian that doesn't understand or can't read French.
LMAO.
