Sad

Hmm.

Which programs - I'll get back to you. I start actual tutorials next week.

Funds? Not sure either...

Hmm. I don't have much clue right now. Thanks for all the info though. It helps.

I'll add more and ask more over the next few weeks.

Good thing you reminded me.

Pro-tools is what we seem to be using at the moment.

But as some of you know, GAMER is actually chronically ill. She's probably deferring uni as she has missed 40% of class thus far. So, chances are i won't be needing that puter anyways.

Though, is there a windows friendly pro-tools?

Also, i remember you guys talking about it at some point...Where do i get Audacity? And is it worth playing with?

Audacity is here:
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/

Though I doubt it'll take the place of a commercial [aka high priced] audio editing suite, it's free so you might as well download it and give it a shot. It can't hurt to have multiple tools available, given that you may be working in, say, Pro-tools, and be thinking "ARRRGH all I want to do is ____" ... so then you can load up Audacity and maybe there's an easy way to do it in that.

Another one I used to use many years ago is "Cool Edit Pro" ... I think the version I used is Cool Edit Pro 2000 ... though not entirely sure. Adobe has since bought it and turned it into Adobe Audition but you can still download it here:
http://oldversion.com/program.php?n=coolpro

As for Pro-tools itself, no idea. Never done any kinda "pro" level sound editing Shifty
