I use dosbox to run the game, n i wondered, cuse iam used to my arrow keys being strafe buttons, n using the mouse to aim n turn, but in wolf3d its possible to aim with mouse n all, but the fact that the arrow keys turn as well

Would be nice if theres a way, i tried NewWolf, bout the only port i found for wolf3d, (think its the only one, i found others, but its for the palm pilot ) Ashamed But, its way too fast, n still has alot of bugs. So if there is a way, tell me lol

I doubt it cuse its an old game, n it would have to be a dosbox setting. Violent

Not that I know of, but you don't need the mouse in W3d.
So I simply disable mouse and put the strafe_toggler on LShift in options -> customize controls.
Right hand on cursor buttons and lefthand fingers to shoot-open-run-strafe.
Works fine.

Maybe you could try if you absolutely want a fixed strafe toggler via the dosbox keymapper, that's for you to find out.

Yea, well the keyboard seems so slow to me, n the mouse gives me better aim. Its so confusing to go back to old school keyboard controls lol. I even tried to get one of my joysticks to work, they wouldn't. I got one as a ps2 controller, bought a converter from wally world, n well it works in some games, but not dos box.

Anyhow, somebody should make a good port for Wolf3d, they got a good one for doom, n thats skulltag. I think the guy that did NewWolf quit, it hasn't been updated for awhile now Sarcastic

Oh well, i guess i have to stick to keyboard controls, even thou i die way more, then just using the mouse. lol

firstly why are using the mouse in wolf3d no need, no enemies shooting at you from above or below. Secondly why are strafing throughout the game the only time you really need to strafe is against the end bosses.
