Yeah, if you're looking for a truely disturbing game enviroment, System Shock 2 will do it to ya... wandering through flickering passageways, hearing the whispers of the "many" surrounding you, seeing holographic images of the recently dead walk around, scream franctically, and then die gruesomely at random points, listening to the breathing of a many-infested zombie sneaking up behind you... aaaaahhhhhhh, what a great game. Can really mess with your brain if you play it for more than an hour straight, or after 10 PM, though. Not for the mentally unstable.

Some horror games merely try to scare you... System Shock 2 tries to destroy your mind.

AVP 2 was also very frightening, especially the marine mision.

Yeah, scary! But I never understood why only the marine scenario tried to be scary!

I've never played SQ2...but the zombie in SQ4 freaked me out.

I have played Larry games neither. Are there as many deaths in those as in other Sierra's adventure games? Not that I would care of it, though...

AND save always in different slots, you never know when you miss an item with the size of a few pixels...

Doom isn't scary at all, it's so loud. It can't be scary to have hordes of monsters (which look pretty cute BTW) shoot/bite you.
