Yeah, if you're looking for a truely disturbing game enviroment, System Shock 2 will do it to ya... wandering through flickering passageways, hearing the whispers of the "many" surrounding you, seeing holographic images of the recently dead walk around, scream franctically, and then die gruesomely at random points, listening to the breathing of a many-infested zombie sneaking up behind you... aaaaahhhhhhh, what a great game. Can really mess with your brain if you play it for more than an hour straight, or after 10 PM, though. Not for the mentally unstable.
Some horror games merely try to scare you... System Shock 2 tries to destroy your mind. |

Yeah, scary! But I never understood why only the marine scenario tried to be scary! |

There's nothing as frightening as death scenes in Sierra's adventure games... |

Edit: Though I guess it is rather scary if your last savegame is two hours away .. |

| I have played Larry games neither. Are there as many deaths in those as in other Sierra's adventure games? Not that I would care of it, though... |

| Doom isn't scary at all, it's so loud. It can't be scary to have hordes of monsters (which look pretty cute BTW) shoot/bite you. |
