Popular freeware gaming site GameHippo.com has been sold to a new owner:
http://indygamer.blogspot.com/2007/04/gamehippo-sold.html
The site (which if I'm not mistaken used to be freegames.org?) was sold for an undisclosed amount to someone who, from the sounds of it, is interested in keeping the site going as it is, hopefully with more frequent updates.
For the record, I receive a few offers each year to sell DOSGames.com, but have never seriously considered them. Although, I wonder how much money he got ... if someone were to offer me a bajillion* dollars ...
* Not a real number. |

lol GH.
That's good...that site has been hacked some many times. They need someone who can actually have root access to the site. |

Hopefully this'll mean a change for the better. Boson is a good guy (though my experience of him is limited to a couple of PMs exchanged on GHF years ago... heh), but he has a family and a busy life, and hasn't really done much with the site or community for a long time.
emmzee: If you ever do decide to sell dosgames.com, contact me first. I don't have a Bajillion dollars, but I would be able to pay a decent amount (in USD too!), and you'd have the peace of mind knowing the guy who bought it from you.
Worm - any news on who the new owner is? |

*Pictures Dogbreath cashing in everything he has, to be able to pay for DOSGames.com*
lol...
But, really, how much buying a website(as popular as DOSGames.com, not DOSGames itself) cost these days? |

In the market Larry?
www.dosgames.com
Though none of these tools are really that accurate. And of course, you'll only get what people'll give for it. |

| That's an interesting tool. It certainly overvalues my website. I don't sell anything, and I don't have any ads, so site revenue is $0. In theory, anyone who offers me more than $0 is a sucker. |

Actually... I think it calculates per visitor or something...
And since you say your site is worth $0, if I pay you $1, would you be interested? Then I could just splash the site with ads, and dunno... something |

That ship has sailed. Now that I know what my site is worth, I'm holding out for some real money! I could buy a PS3 for that kind of money! Too bad I mostly play DOS games. I suppose I could buy 100 copies of Hocus Pocus. |
