| What happened 0.66-0.69. I like the new dosbox. This may sound stupid but can command prompt run in dosbox and what would i have to type in to start command prompt in dosbox. It would make installing floppy and cdrom games easier. |

You got something mixed up here Abyss, when you run dosbox, the window you get, with the Z:\> , now the Z:\> that IS the prompt, that is what it is named.
A command line is what you input at this Z:\>.
I think you meant something different, maybe your question is how to start dosbox with the C:\> mounted and ready?
If that is so: you must click on dosboxconfig and add the mount lines under [AUTOEXEC]
something as:
[AUTOEXEC]
mount c e:\games
c:
Those are my personal lines, so that dosbox starts in C:.
You can make several config files with floppy mounted, CDdrive mounted , EMS , NO EMS,... and so on.
It's all nicely explained in the DOSBOX readme. |

Traditionally, if you make a major upgrade that is a vast improvement over the predecessor, you can just skip to the next .whatever . |

OK, calm a bit down Abyss, will ya ?
Sometimes it is a bit hard to understand what you mean.
Command prompt is the fake dos on XP
Here you seems to refer to the "DOS command WINDOW" or "DOS command BOX" in XP.
Can i run command prompt on dosbox
If my idea about what you meant above is correct: NO, you can't.
The XP command box is specific for XP and can only run in XP. In fact it's a WINDOWS XP program.
It can not run in an other OS. To run it in dosbox you should first run XP in dosbox and then in that dosbox-XP open a command window. No need to tell you that will not work .... LOL.
Once again, and I think I said this about thousand times on several forums:
XP dos command window is NOT meant to play or run common programs in it. It is meant as support to mainly system, security , rescue ,debug , developers , compress programs , such thingies.
Example, when you shut down XP in an incorrect way you (should) get a CHKDSK (SCANDISK) run at the next startup, that's such a program. |

You should get 0.70 also TSM, it is really a major improvement.
0.63 and 0.70 can be together on your system, no problem.
The speed gain in some games is simply amazing. |

Contrary to common belief, DOSBox != Internet Explorer.
By default (on Windows at least) each version of DOSBox installs into versioned directory:
%ProgramFiles%\DOSBox-0.63
%ProgramFiles%\DOSBox-0.65
%ProgramFiles%\DOSBox-0.70
etc. It is the same with
Start => Programs => DOSBox-0.63
Start => Programs => DOSBox-0.65
Start => Programs => DOSBox-0.70 |
