ZZT is a game creation utility that comes include with some sample games (Town of ZZT etc)
Here's some lists of good games that are available on the main ZZT site (z2):

Some of my favs are Coolness, Warlord's Temple, Dragon Woods ... in terms of classic games, the Code Red series and Sivion are probably considered "must plays" ... umm, and for stupid humor games, try No Point, Double Weird or Triple Weird.  |
