Still no luck with this anyone? I downloaded another copy of DK via p2p just to check the list of files, and there is a whole load of files missing from the version I got from HotU. Unfortunately this other version I got hold of is Italian, so while I can replace the sfx obviously the narration is useless (and has been done by someone who sounds no way as good as the guy who did the english narration). Anyway I may try downloading again from HotU just in case I lost a whole chuck of stuff during download. Let me know if you have any success.

It depends on the type of ripping, if they just copied things from the CD then it could have files missing such as audio or if the game has a storyline movie etc etc.
This could be because these files are more than likely are situated within hidden folders located on the CD.
An ISO however, has everything including hidden files and folders, it is the exact replica or in other words a clone of the CD or DVD. The only thing missing is the CD-KEY if the game has one for installation.
And downloading anything from torrents or P2P application, has more chance of being dodgy than obtaining a legal copy via downloading from an official vendor. |

No offence Adam but I don't think you fully understand how a RIP works! It's not just copying files (and trust me RIPers are not THAT stupid not to know that some files won't be copyed ), it's a very complex process! |

| Damn I hate that thing! It's very hard to make a decent CD image to bypass the copy protection, especialy if we're talking subchanel, MDS/RMPS or even SafeDisk protection  |

RMPS aint a copy protection -.- its a method of bypassing it... but it itself is not a copy protection...
plus most new games now a days have certain fixed things to allow bypassing certain things |
