Isn't there some sort of mini series called Dune, or Children of Dune or something?
I haven't read it, but the series on TV looked kind of interesting.
What's it about?

Well first of all... it's DUNE and I believe it has 6 episodes... and Yes one of them is Children of DUNE
The story takes place in the year 10567(if i remember correctly) on the planet Arrakis, known as DUNE. Dune is the only source of Melange(Spice) in the universe. Here Paul Atreides and his mnother Jessica, the only survivers of the Atreides kind(the rest were killed in a surprise atack by the Harkonen-their sworn enemies) meet the inhabitants of Dune, the fremen, and join their battle against the Harkonen.

Bottom line:
I know this review is kind'of crappy but I realy think U should try this book. If U do some googling U can find the pdf version for free.

It sounds pretty cool, I'll have to hit the library to check it out. Reading online hurts my eyes...

Avoid at all cost the movies.
The books are really good, pleasant and entertaining.
Read them in good order.

I read part 1 and 2, and I loved them. But part 3 got really boring real quick. Never finished it. I love the game though.

Bloody brilliant.

The rts game, was great back then, but is now, well, just crap. I mean, you can't even bloody select multiple units at once!

There are several book series, a TV series, several movies and several games. If you think back to what my avatar and sig was about a month or so ago then you already know the answer to wether I'm a fan of the various series or not. Tbbbbbth!

I like da Dune series! I haven't read the books, granted, but the games are awesome. [well, okay, so I've only played Dune 2000 and Dune II, but they were great!]

Yeah, I read the original. I thought that it was pretty good, but the sequels didn't really grasp me much.
