I'm not talking about Commander Keen. I'm not talking about Doom. I'm talking about the great, but sadly overlooked games that are your favorites. A game I feel that not many people know/care about (at least I know of) is Realms of Chaos, by Apogee. A great game, kind of a mix between platformers and RPGs. It has a great feature where you can save at any point in a level and replay it there. What game is your favorite?

There are 2 games you don't hear about anymore, I has always enjoyed playing them:
Falcon 3.0
Comanche 1

Falcon 3.0 i consider as the first "complete" modern flightsim, everything is on it,
a full campaign, campaign editor.
Instant action, where you fly around, everything you encounter on air / ground is hostile.

Comanche 1 i still consider also as the first complete chopter simulator, even if there is no real campaign as in Gunship.

Sadly enough both are concived for 14" monitors, they look extremely pixelated on wider screens.

but i still have also an old P1/100 with 14" moni.... Happy

Princess Maker 2

Sounds like a girly game but I've had many hardened, male, FPS shooter fans say that it's an awesome game.

and my husbands vote,

Silent Service 2

An Uncle Sid game you don't hear a lot about.

I really loved Jones. It's ancient and not too common. I played it in the early 90's, back in 7th grade.

In the game you are this guy and you just get a job and have a life. It's simple, but fun.

Mega Man X. Most people don't even know what it is.

Mega Man X? How can anyone not know of that game? If you are talking about the PC version maybe, but isn't it the same as the console one?

For me, probably the all time best overlooked game is Freespace 2. Quite possibly the greatest space opera/flight sim game ever made, it's so well put together in every single way that even now, 7 years after it's release, it still makes my jaw drop. Sadly, despite millions put into development, it was poorly advertised and sold less than 50 thousand copies.

If not Freespace 2, then definately Alien Legacy. Amazing colonization/exlporation/warfare/research/space opera/RTS mix, it's simply HUGE... and one of the best "space epic" games ever made... right behind Star Control and Starflight in my book. Unlike the aforementioned, almost nobody has heard of Alien Legacy. Great Game.

Alien Legacy - me too! I never finished it though.
The two "Legend" games: "Four Crystals of Trazere" and "Son of the Empire".
Ocean Trader - Me trade you big time! Shit-Eating Grin

I admit that these games are not quite unknown...

Fantastic taste. Unfortunately since I found and downloaded that game for him I can't get on my DOS computer. And he mocked me for putting it together. Sad

I wouldn't say any of those games were truly overlooked.

My favourite overlooked game was probably Sea Legends: I really enjoyed it but hardly ever hear anyone mention it.

I was a big fan of Prince of Persia. That was the first rpg I bought-maybe that's why I have special feelings for it.

Yay! Another POP fan! POP was the first DOS game I ever played in my life, so I also have special feelings for it.
But POP isn't very overlooked, because it sold over a million copies worldwide. rpg? I don't think so, POP is more of an classic-type adventure.
