Indenture (v1.7) for DOS, a clone of Atari 2600 Adventure, runs EXTREMELY slow on Windows XP.

People who try to play dos games on windows XP probably spend more time trying to configure it then actually playing games.

DOSbox 0.6 was just released if you want to try playing a real old game on a new pc.

Doom itself does have errors, however, there are multiple enhanced engines for it that do work in XP. JDoom and ZDoom can both be downloaded for free, the only requirement is that you have the main IWAD for the game, and a glide card.
JDoom can be found at http://www.doomsdayhq.com/index.php
and
Zdoom can be found at http://zdoom.org/

Well Sierra's games such as Half-life, Gunman Chronicles, Opposing force, Blue shift, and Counter-strike are really messy Crying . They tilt whenever they wish, and there are a lot of problems with them. Also Soldier of Fortune tilts in a specific part of the game. Sad

You know whats pitiful? Dos games work better with Dosemu on Linux than on Windows XP. You can add Jazz Jackrabbit to the list, since MoSlo doesn't work on XP without buying it, and who wants to buy MoSlo?

Transport Tycoon Deluxe can be persuaded to work under XP if Transport Tycoon Deluxe Patch is installed. Download from here:

Wally, being the only one to apply, will be taking over the XP compatibility list.
