...it's not as good as it sounds. They just changed their name to the ESA.

I hope they'll change their automated email policy soon, or at least refine it...then we could have Wolf 3D and Doom shareware back on the site.

Huh, I didn't think they could do anything about SHAREWARE. What good is calling it shareware when you can't even d/l a freakin' demo as that's all most of the shareware titles were ;)

Meanwhile the ESA is the Entertainment Software Association, dealing mainly with computer games.

Attacking the innocent

Post by J-Man »

When the ESA or any other anti-piracy organization attack the innocent (poor law-abiding Emmzee and probably some others), it shows that their war on piracy is being fought badly. Someone or something has failed to do their job properly.

It is excellent that the ESA/BSA/CAAST/etc. are fighting hard against criminal software piracy, however, they must make sure that they don't waste time and money hitting Emmzee and other innocents if they ever hope to thwart the pirate community.

I am against piracy in all forms. I am glad that someone's fighting back against these criminals and it makes me sad that they are misusing their legal weapons. They should be grateful that Emmzee tries hard to avoid piracy and maintaining clean warez-free content. But they reward him with accusations. What a shame and a disappointment from our anti-piracy heroes.
