Extracting "SHARE.SHR" from Blood Shareware?

Post by Cire »

I wonder what format is the SHARE.SHR Blood Shareware 1.11 install file packed in? I've tried extracting with 7zip and UniExtract, doesn't work. I'm on 64-bit Windows, I can use DOSBox but it doesn't preserve the timestamps on the files as I would like. Any ideas?

You can always change the timestamp manually later.

What would you use inside DOSBox to extract it?

This is some kind of proprietary format, perhaps originating with Apogee/3D Realms. It was also used for the shareware versions of Alien Rampage.

You should use DOSBox SVN Daum to install the files with all date stamps intact.
