Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

First I want to give THANKS and PRAISES to Jesus#!!

Next, I want to bless God for blessing my mom hopefully 100 years hehe!!!!!

After that, I want to honour my real dad Nguyen Binh Thuy for serving!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then I honour my real mom Huong Thi Vu for keeping me on my toes.

I saw one of the images in our local community Impact NEWSPAPER.

So credits for an image goes to that.

Anyways, I have to give great good praises to God in this edition.

It is another breakthrough (kinda).

It has its roots back in the time when I first did my circle routine.

Back in those days I only was able to use half the screen because of memory.

The breakthrough is through Borland Turbo Assembler 4.1 that is broken.

I am now able to access the upper memories.

This means that instead of a mere 12 images I can now load 500 sprites.

That is just a rough estimate.

I have only begun with 1 additional sprite above the boundary.

So for me, I personally am grateful to Jesus and both my parents for most of my gains!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here you have it folks, THE miraculous medals version for you religious folks.

In this edition are featured two miraculous medals images.

Back in the days, there was a legend of a nun.

While she was old and praying, the mother of God came to her.

The mother of God is name Mary.

Mary told the nun to make images of this medal.

Those who wear it and pray to Mary religiously are given special graces#!!

Honour to my real father for making me a programmer!!!!!!!!!!

Honour to my real mother for keeping the inspiration coming.

I don't know where you are dad (Nguyen Binh Thuy) and love you anyways.

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Well, back in the days, people would usually set aside Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

At least one day of the week is reserved for resting.

However on important occasions they would forget about rest and save lives!

So depending on the situation I'm seeing what I will produce next.

Maybe level 2? hehe

I'm sorry I might have over estimated that.

The dimensions of the sprites are 41x41.

So let's round that out to be 50x50=2500pixels

Each page can store 64000pixels.
So let's round that out to be 50000pixels.

50000 divided by 2500 = 20 sprites per page.

We have a rough estimate of 5 pages usable, so 5x20 = 100 sprites total.

I'm sorry that is a more realistic figure for this dimension.

I am calculating without a calculator so I tend to estimate.

A word about upper memory if you are using Borland Turbo C 2.01...

Depending on what memory model you use the programming stack area is located there. So upper memory is volatile and subject to interference from the source code. That is why many programs do not use the stack area much. I tend to program on the edge to break the limits of what is possible.

If you program all in assembly language like Borland Turbo Assembler 4.1:
You get to control most of the memories so you don't have to worry much about it. However the main processor still needs a certain amount dedicated like BIOS, ROM, etc.

I confess that I have read the entire Borland Turbo Assembler 5.0 booklets however I'm too lazy to take years to develop everything in pure assembly so I use C because it is faster and a higher level language.

Another limitations is that MS-DOS is base on 1MB. People who save every bit of money they have or don't have anything to begin with can't afford to go out and buy more RAM. So dos is limited to that much. However, you can only be within a 64K block of memory at a time.

Anyways, it gets complex. You don't need to know that. It is just a day to relax and a little trivia.

Thank you Jesus!

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Okay here is a refined version. A lot of work still needs to be done.

But the image loading is slightly faster and cleaner.

The image processing has been refined a bit to remove a subtle glitch.

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Well, I'm calling all my friends!?hehe Well, if you have any images you would like me to put into the program Demu, I would be happy so long it is in good taste. You also get credits at the end where the credits scroll for the images.

Any suggestions to the creativity of the project is also welcome. No one is an idiot. Call questions are answered considering this is a public forum.

The reason I am doing this is because I would like to make Marble Madness an official long range project. It might even be so long to make it last my whole lifetime.

So if I am locking myself into a closed small group so be it. I would like to make this game fun enough that even outsiders actually play it and enjoy it.

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Well, I'm planning on something funny for Marble Madness.

However, it's gonna take some time to implement.

Actually the shouldn't take that much time however the testing is needed.

Maybe I'll have an early release and let the public beta test Marble Madness?
hehe

Anyways, I am planning on after reaching a certain point you turn into a soup.

Actually you turn into a soup container hehe

Remember that soup container we saw earlier DEMOing?hehe

Well, it is the very same one.

I'm just thinking 1000 (one thousand) points before becoming a soup.

What do you think? Way to much joking? hehe

Bless Jesus then bless my real mom Huong Thi Vu for teaching me "light"!
hehe

Honour to my real dad Nguyen Binh Thuy for programming.

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Well, I worked quite a bit on this one so I hope you like it.

Even if you do not like it at least I gave it a try to keep you entertained.

Like pseudocoder said, you are given 100 points to start.

If you reach 1000 points and would like to be included in the credits, tell me.

I just want you to PM me and say what happened when you reached that.

Play it for a while and see what if the affect of reaching 1000 points.

If you want a hello to your girlfriend, boyfriend or whatever - be in good taste.

Anyways, thanks for trying my beta. This is the the second level hehe

Corny? Yes. Fun - you tell me (hopefully hehe)

Thank you God if anyone reaches 1000 points and plays it a while.

Bless my real mom of course following Jesus for taking perfect care of me!

Honour my real dad who enjoys living in USA.
Honour to my real mom who loves life#!!

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

I'm wondering if you like the image loading the way it is?

Or do you prefer to hide it from the screen and make it faster a bit?

Instead of taking like 5 minutes to load, you might just need 2 minutes??

Just let me know what you think.

In either case, I think I'm going to implement it.

I'm just personally getting tired of waiting.

Now The Holy Bible says waiting is a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all you know before hand with the images showing up.

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Well, I'm coming up with a huge glitch.

So it might take time to fix it.

Worst case scenario you'll have to load the game for 5 minutes.

Then you go all out Marble Madness!!!!!!!!!!!! Laughing

Well, this version is a "work-in-progress" so don't download.

I'm just putting it here for those of you who like all the latest updates.

Also, during image loading there is now a counter to show the progress.

Cheese-its & Rice!hehe

Here you go people. hehe Laughing

Well, the technology is finally here well kinda hehe Laughing

Actually, on the serious side I really did make it faster to load the images.

You no longer see it loading so it is faster.

Instead of waiting 5 minutes you only wait like 10 seconds.

So more game playing sessions and less waiting to play the game.

Cheers.

Like I said I'm only working on optimizing the time right now.

So you can quit the game and come back to it without much of a wait.

Bless Jesus then my real mom Huong Thi Vu for pushing me forward#!!

Well, here is Marble Madness with jumping inertia.!!

I was reading in the documentation that came with Microsoft.

They mentioned that the original Manic Marbles had a jump option.

So I decided by the grace of God to put a twist on the jump.

It has inertia hehe

The is the only new thing in this glitchy one. hehe

Well, this is nothing much of a change.

It fixes the alignment when you or other other player turns into a flame.

I would like to make it a little more refined however it is going to take time.

I've got a "few" DEMO ideas I want to bring out.

However it is only at the tip of my head right now.

I've an idea how to implement one DEMO, but I need time.

I don't want to get your hopes up so I'll just leave it as unfinished idea now.

Thank you God for saving me everytime I could get into trouble#!!

Bless you God becuase you sent Jesus to save me at least hehe

Bless my real mom Huong Thi Vu for always pushing me to the MS-DOS hehe

Hopefully, God helps me to not run out of steam hehe

It's been the weekend and I'm still drained.

Thank you Jesus and Mary#!! I have another inspiration.

Here in Marble Madness, we have level 2 "The Beginning".

So far it is just the beginning so you only see the display of level 2.

It is nothing except for the INTRO page so don't download if you want more.

You cannot see it unless you cheat or you reach 25 points.

Thank you for being so patient during the tiring weekend.

Bless my real mom Huong Thi Vu for telling me to "try" hard to bring new.

Honour to my real dad Nguyen Binh Thuy for pushing me to be a developer.

Honour to my real mom Huong Thi Vu for still being there when I had not.
hehe

Love to my real sis Nguyen Khoa Thi - you programmer pro you!

Love to my real sis Nguyen Khoa Thuyen - you got married - gosh.
